Five Things that Irritate Me

You know what really bugs me?!
Ok so we all have pet peeves and some, everyone can agree with. Like no one likes to hear smacking of food. We agree. However, I’m a total weirdo and there are some things that bother me that probably shouldn’t and yet they do. I guess I’m not the only one like this though. I’ve seen people get irritated by someone else popping gum, but I like the sound and I, too, pop my gum. Ha ha! Whenever something does irk me though, I tell myself that it isn’t a big deal and that the world doesn’t revolve around you. Because unfortunately it doesn’t. People live their life and I live mine, just, not doing these things that bother me.
1. Seeing someone receive an iMessage text instead of the actual text words
What are you so secretive for? No one really cares about your conversation you’re having? The only reason I glanced is because when I hear a phone chime or see a phone light up, I assume it’s mine and quickly look only to realize it’s not my phone so I don’t care anymore. I was told though, that some people’s girlfriends/boyfriends are intrusive and like to read their significant other’s text or catch a few words to get the rest of the conversation so they do that to avoid any issues. Oh well, I guess.
2. When friends ask me “Wyd today?” in the middle of the school week
I’m going to classes and attending school, what do you mean? My day consists of school all morning and busy doing my life all afternoon, then sleep at night. I know I can’t expect people to assume that I’m doing whatever it is in the world I’m doing that day BUT common sense should tell you, “Oh, Jordan’s at school.” Maybe instead people should say, “Wyd besides school?” or “Wyd after class?” That makes me feel like you know a little bit about my life and what I do on the daily basis since we are friends!
3. People who drive close to the cars in front of them
Maybe it’s because I’ve been in too many car accidents (I wasn’t the driver in them) but whyyyyy must you drive on the person’s tail in front of you? What’s the rush and where are you going? It doesn’t cost a thing to simply drive maybe a car length, like it says in driving school, behind people. My anxiety level hits mountain peaks when I’m riding in the car with someone who rides directly behind someone when they’re driving.
4. People who walk directly behind me on a walkway
I guess this might correlate with #3, but I haven’t actually gotten into a walking accident. If the walkway is crowded, then I completely understand why you’re walking behind me. Shoot I’d probably be walking directly behind someone too in that case. If we have an open walkway, why are you walking directly behind me like I’m the line leader and you must stay an ankle away from me? We’re not together and you’re making my neck hairs rise and become uncomfortable. Walk a couple feet behind me, go around me, walk to the sides of me, somewhere else PLEASE. Maybe people should become more self-aware, I don’t know. Is this a stupid thing to be irritated by? I always ask myself this, but it remains that this will always bother me
5. When I sneeze and no one says bless you
It could be that I’m from the south and I believe in southern hospitality, but when I sneeze in a public area I feel like I should hear “bless you.” It’s polite, it’s having manners, and it should just be common courtesy. Don’t you think so? What, are you so busy with your texting and iPad TV shows that you can’t say bless you. It literally takes 1.5 seconds.
Ok, so basically you see that I can be kind of an irritable person, but not really. I love people I promise I do. These are just those little knit picky things that get under my skin that I don’t actually show or tell people, but think about in my head (along with the other 1,000 ideas in my mind). Let me know what you’re bothered by or if you can relate to any of the things on my list. Leave comments!
Live life,
Jordan
