Hump Day: Finding Purpose

It's that about time for a mid-week pick me up. Let's jump right in.
In the first grade my teacher asked us to draw a picture of what we wanted to be when we grow up. I drew a teacher because I have always loved to teach. Is that still what I want to be when I grow up? Not quite. I would love to, but I also have other goals I'd like to pursue first. What about you, what did you want to be when you grew up? Is it still the same?
Things change.
You grow, you find things you're good at... and not so good at. You find likes and dislikes, things that make your eyes light up and those that make you groan.
Words to live by:
If it doesn't make you happy, don't do it.
That's not to say, "Ew, I dont like this one stage. I quit!" In life we have to take steps to achieve what we most want to do. There will be stages we go through that may not have a clear meaning in the beginning but in the end, we'll know why we went through those hardships.
Real life
Take me, for example. I work at a news station as an assignment editor. Consider me a professional story finder. I also own a blog that I I like to post on and that's where I get to use my creativity. I get paid to work at the station, but I don't get paid to write on my blog (Yet!). I love producing content, and I love when my readers tell give me good feedback, or make suggestions. Does it suck that I put in hours of work but only get satisfaction reports? Yes and no.
I love blogging so I don't care. Would it be cool to be paid for the fruits of my labor? Of course! To give up now because it isn't fun doing work for free would be a mistake.
Find your purpose and ride the wave.
Live life,
Jordan
