That time I went to London

Well here's a post I thought I'd never get to.

Come one, come call to my super late tale of how amazing my trip in Europe was. We went from Amsterdam to London to Paris.

I told you about Amsterdam, so let's talk about London.

Reminder: This is for Essence's birthday trip.

SPOILER ALERT: It was our favorite city! Everything about the city was amazing. The people, the city, the nightlife, the shopping. Seriously, TAKE ME BACK.

So on our way from Amsterdam to London we ran into a little speed bump at the airport. All of our bags were overweight.

We all had one large suitcase each and we were struggling to make it under 50 pounds. Do you know how hard it is to fit 10 days worth of clothes where you're trying to look your most absolute best across the country?! I think the women at the baggage check were rolling their eyes so hard in their mind. After Essence repacked her suitcase three times, all of our bags eventually made it onto the belt at just about 50-53 pounds haha. We finally made it to our terminal and we were headed to London.

Once we arrived in the rocking UK, finding an Uber to fit all five of us and our luggage was difficult. We ended up getting two Ubers.

We stayed at the Rathbone Hotel.

Audrey and I roomed together, Elexis and Ebony roomed together and the hotel was so nice to give Essence a complementary upgrade for her room when they found out it was her birthday.

It was such a cute hotel and the concierge and hotel manager were very accommodating of us. They told us great places to visit and eat.

My Auntie Judi came to visit me the first day I got there because of course I literally have family all over the world. She brought us a bottle of Prosecco and thus, my love for Prosecco began. Apparently, it's a London thing *Cheers*.

On the first day of our adventures in London we didn't expect to cover as much ground as we did. First, we stopped at a breakfast place called SohoJoe's.My pancake stack with a fried egg on top was delish!

We made it to Westminster and before we knew it, everything was in walking distance. We visited the Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, St. James Park, Piccadilly, Westminster Abbey (Where Prince William and Kate Middleton got married), went sightseeing and all throughout the London streets. We stopped at a cute boutique-style grill: Dirty Bones. The coolest thing about the restaurant was probably the hidden door that led to the restroom, or as they say in London, the toilets.

(I got this red dress from Urban Outfitters. I can always count on them for summer breezy dresses)

Sidenote: We lost Audrey for 15 minutes. She stopped at a restaurant 'toilet' while we were all still walking and I really thought I lost my friend in London, or worse, she was taken. But we found her a heart attack later.

We went to a fun club the first night called Tape. The music was good and one of the busboys kept bringing us drinks at the end of the night. London knows how to turn up.

The next day we went around town, explored, visited the British Museum and learned a little bit. The British Museum has historical information from more than just The United Kingdom. Because of its location, it shares history with all of the surrounding continents. We also visited the Tower of London. On our way home we stopped at a cute pink teahouse called Sketch. Very cute, very pink. Definitely had to have tea time in London.

Outfit deets - Jordan / Dress: Urban Outfitters (from the Sale rack!) Boots: Zara. Jacket: BCBG (Winter 2017)

Essence / Dress: Blazer dress: Zara - Pink colored frock blazer. Bra: Victoria's Secret. Shoes: Gucci slippers.

Next, the birthday celebration prep. That night, we surprised Essence with birthday cupcakes, champagne and balloons to bring in her 25th. FYI: Surprising Essence is really hard.

Aren't our matching pjs so cute!?

We all put on our Birthday fits and went to dinner at STK, a popular steak restaurant in the States. Their menu was modified of course because we were in London, but the restaurant was lovely and we enjoyed our dinner. Of course a photoshoot was prompted after because its ever so necessary.

Outfit deets - Jordan / Dress: by the way - Ciara mesh camo dress. Bodysuit: H&M. Shoes: Schutz - Kenia.

Essence / Dress: Fashion Nova - Asymmetrical dress. Shoes: Saint Laurent - Talitha feather ankle trap sandals.

That night, we went to a London club called Cirque le Soir. Hands down, the most interesting club I've ever been to. Also, one of the most fun. The music was poppin', the design was creative and London clubs stay open all night, okurrrr.

Based on it's name I'm sure you can deduct that it was a circus theme. There were characters in costume, a ball pit, circus wall decor, mini shows, and circus-like furniture. At midnight, there was a 'lets get this party started' show. The club music stopped and the circus music began. There was fire twirling, confetti, a weird show with a man dressed as a baby, some other weird costumes you had to see to believe and a mime. It was quite a show. Then the club turned up.

The following morning we got up and did some more sightseeing. We were tired, but hey who knows when we'll be back? We have to see everything! We went to the London Eye. It's a huge ferris wheel. We saw the British House of Parliament and Big Ben. Upset: Big Ben is under construction. We asked how long it's been under construction and someone told us this is the first time it has been under major construction in like the last 50 years. Great timing, right? We also rode bikes around the city. I'm not sure if that was a mistake or an adventure.

We walked through m&m world, China town and some area with cute little shops. My suitcase could fit nothing so I didn't even take the time to really shop. At each destination I bought and sent postcards to send back to my family and friends then I sent them off before leaving to the next city. (I sent this post card to my grandma)

This is pretty much the end of my super cool stop in London. We had a great time, ate some 'fish & chips' and saw all the sights and lived our best Spice Girl life.

The next morning we woke up in Paris, but we'll just have to wait for the final part of the Europe Takeover to see how the France was!

Please comment and ask questions about the trip. I'd love to tell you all about my spendings, how I got my US dollars to convert to Pounds, and how we got around from place to place.

Live life,

Jordan
